Advanced Building Techniques – Residential,

From the attic, down through the wall framing and into the crawlspace, we will explore the advanced building techniques used to construct more energy efficient homes. Learn how both the International Residential Code and the International Energy Conservation Codes address these techniques.

This 2 hour course will address the following questions:

·         What requirements apply to plastic insulation installed in both warm and cold climates?

·         How do I get my roof to comply with the building code if I install air permeable insulation in a cold climate under the roof deck?

·         What International Residential Code requirements apply to advanced wall framing techniques?

·         How to I comply with both the energy and building codes for crawlspace foundation insulation and venting?
